  • Notes
    • In their Christmas, 2002, letter, Glen and Cindy wrote:
"This year ... saw the end of our service as a missionary couple when we returned in June from France after serving 17 months in the same wonderful branch of the church in Rouen, the city where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. We saw much positive growth and made many wonderful friends we very reluctantly left there. *** We are back home now, every busy. Two days after arriving home, Cindy was called to teach Seminary to the 14 and 15 year old youth, an experience we have found to be equivalent to a full-time job.... Glen serves as high priest group leader in the ward working with about 21 great men. He is working especially hard on compiling genealogical data in hopes of publishing a book on the names he has collected...."

In their Christmas, 2003, letter, Glen and Cindy wrote:
"Glen continues to be very busy even though retired. We have discovered that retirement is definitely not 'retiring.' But that is the way we like it. Glen continues as High Priest Group Leader and spends a great deal of time on genealogy and family history in between other assignments. *** Of the 104 'vacation' days this summer we spent 55 of them out of town with numerous trips to Washington, D.C., the weddings of two sons, two college graduations, a return trip to France to continue our close relationships with people there ... etc. Busy but fulfilling experiences."

Earlier in his career, Glen, who has a Ph.D. in engineering, published engineering articles, including "Command Center Network (CCN) - Backbone of Future Command and Control," Naval Engineers Journal, vol 92, pp. 25-34 (Dec 1980), republished online 18 Mar 2009.

Glen was elected to the Elmbrook School District, Brookfield, WI, Board of Education in 2010, and served as its Treasurer through April 2013. He also has been a supporter of Mitt Romney for president.
