  • Notes
    • J. F. Byerly, THE BYERLY FAMILY OF THE VALLEY OF VIRGINIA, p. 41 (1994), says:
"Catherine was the daughter of John Landis, b. ca. 1730-45 in York Co. PA and who came to [Rockingham Cnty] in 1790 with two half brothers, Benjamin and David. John purchased land adjacent to Joseph Byerly just s. of Harrisonburg, VA, between Cooks Creek and Pleasant Run. He sold this land in 1804...and bought 515 acres at Seawright Springs from James Seawright. The property was close to the Croushorn farm, later relatives of the Byerlys.***"
