    • The 1900 census shows George's father "Louis A" Snouffer, 25 yrs old, born Mar 1875, and a farmer, living with his wife "Rebecca", 24, born Mar 1876, and their son George L, 10-months old, born July 1899. Living next door is Otho T. Snouffer, 53, born Oct. 1846, and also a farmer. 1900 U.S. Census, Buckeystown prct, Frederick Cnty, MD (T 623, Roll 622, stamped pp. 19-20).

      The 1939 BOYD'S DIRECTORY, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, p. 1191 (R.L. Polk & Co.: 1939), lists [sic]: "Snouffer Geo L (Margt E) auto mech r 510 7th ne."

      The 1940 census shows the household of Josephine Harper, 53; her daughter Margaret, 32, who was a "typist" for the FBI; Margaret's husband George Snouffer, 40, born in Maryland; and other members of the Harper family. 1940 U.S. Census, Washington, D.C. (T 627, Roll 565, stamped p. 887 B).

      The 1942 BOYD'S DIRECTORY, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, p. 1522 (R.L. Polk & Co.: 1942), lists simply "Snouffer Geo (Margt) r 510 7th ne."

      Death notice, The Frederick [MD] News, p. 5 (20 Feb 1950):
      "George Lewis Snouffer, Washington, and formerly of Adamstown, died at his home on Sunday. He was the husband of Mrs. Margaret E. Snouffer, near [sic; nee ?] Harper. His parents were the late Lewis Ashton and Mary Snouffer.
      "Funeral services will be held ... Wednesday morning [22 Feb] .... Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery, this city...."

      A death notice from The Washington [DC] Post provides: "On Sunday, Ferbruary 19, 1950, George Lewis Snouffer, beloved husband of Margaret E. Snouffer (nee Harper) of 1328 46th st. se.; son of the late Lewis Ashton Snouffer and the late Betty Snouffer. Services at the above residence on Wednesday, February 22, at 9:30 a.m. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md. Relatives and friends invited."       George is buried Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD, in sec. Q, lot 31, grave # 12.
