      "NEW OXFORD -- Frederick A. Day, 67, died Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Hanover Hospital. He was the companion of Tammy M. Ritchie.
      "He was born October 23, 1940, in Adams Co., the son of the late Francis A. and Madalene D. (Slagle) Day.
      "He retired as a mechanic for Frock Brothers Trucking and he beat Huntington's Disease.
      "In addition to his companion Tammy, he is loved and will be sadly missed by two sons, Michael D. Day and his wife, Lovevena of Hanover and Brian K. Day and his wife, Celia of York; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Russell J. Ritchie of New Oxford and Ray A. Ritchie of Huntington, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Renee R. Ritchie of New Oxford and Roquel G. Pieffer of Gettysburg; two brothers, Larry A. Day of Spring Grove and Gerald E. Day of New Oxford; a sister, Phyllis E. Pierson of Marshfield, Mass.; and his ex wife, Betty A. Riley of McSherrystown.
      "He was predeceased by a brother, Roger H. Day; and a sister, Shelby L. Day.
      "Funeral services will be held Friday [24 Oct] at 10 a.m.... Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover...."
