Married Mary Jane Davey, March 2, 1854; she was born in Wayne Co., Penn., 1835; they had nine children, seven are living -- James Milton, born in College, Iowa, Nov. 16, 1854; Eugene Jerome, born in Buchanan Co., Mo., Oct. 5, 1859; John Wellington, born in College, Iowa, July 14, 1862; George Davey, born in College, Iowa, April 16, 1864; William Augustus, born in College, Iowa, July 20, 1866; Sarah Albina, born in College, Iowa, February 17, 1868; Ransom Esdras, born in College, Iowa, June 11, 1875; Harriet Ellen, born April 2, 1856, and William Alford, born in 1858, died in infancy.       The 1880 census lists "Jos. W. Baker," 46, a farmer, living with his wife "Mary J," 44; and children "John W," 18; "Geo. D," 16; "Wm. A," 13; "Sarah A," 12; and "Esdras," 4. «i»1880 U.S. Census, «/i»College Twsp, Linn Cnty, IA (T 9, Roll 351, stamped p. 162B).

      «i»PORTRAIT AND BIOGRAPHICAL ALBUM OF LINN COUNTY, IOWA«/i», pp. 902-903 (Chapman Bros., Chicago: 1887), records:
      «tab»"Joseph W. Baker *** [married] Miss Mary Davey, at the home of the bride's parents in College Township. ***
      «tab»"Mrs. Baker ... became the mother of nine children... [including] Sarah E. [sic] [who lives] ... at home...."

      The 1910 census shows "Otterbein, Henry, 40, living with his wife of 18 years, "Albina S," 43, and their daughter Gladys, 1 & 2 months. All were born in Iowa. Henry was employed in "Real Estate." Lodging with them in the same establishment on Third Street in Shaniko were Albina's brother George D.       At the time of her mother's death in 1926, and according to her obituary, "Mrs. H. Otterbein" was living in Cedar Rapids, IA.

      Obituary, «i»Cedar Rapids [IA] Gazette«/i» (25 Feb 25 1936):
      "Mrs. Henry H. Otterbein Dies In Kansas City
      "Mrs. Sarah Albina Otterbein, 68, widow of Henry H. Otterbein and a former resident of Cedar Rapids, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Max L. Baseman, Kansas City, Mo. early Monday following a stroke. She was born in Cedar Rapids and had lived here all her life except for the last few years, which she spent in Kansas City. In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Basemann, she is survived by two brothers, William Augustus Baker, Cedar Rapids, and George Baker, of Portland, Ore.
      "Funeral services will be held ... Wednesday at 4 p.m. conducted by a
      reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist.       married HENRY H. OTTERBEIN 24 August 1892 in Linn County, Iowa, son of PHILLIP OTTERBEIN and MARY VIOLET. He was born 27 July 1869 in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa, and died 21 June 1933 in Linn County, Iowa.
      "Child of ALBINA BAKER and HENRY OTTERBEIN is:
      i. GLADYS HENRIETTA OTTERBEIN, b. 13 February 1909, Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa."
