    • The 1920 census shows that "William" Croushorn, 44 yrs old and born in Virginia, was living with his wife "Alisce," 32, born in Nebraska. They were living in the home of her parents, Newton Buchanan, 58, born in Pennsylvania, and Mary E, 59, born in Illinois. Both "William" and his father-in-law were farmers. 1920 U.S. Census, Dorr Twsp, McHenry Cnty, IL (T 625, Roll 386, stamped p. 122).

      In 1930 the census reveals that "William," 54, was living with his wife Alice, 42, and her parents, Newton Buchanan, 68, and Mary, 69. William worked as a farm laborer, while his father-in-law was a carpenter for a building contractor. 1930 U.S. Census, New Lenox Twsp, Will Cnty, IL (T 626, Roll 569, stamped p. 119).

      The Wheatland Presbyterian Ch. Cemetery Records provide (in relation to Lot 88, north 1/2):
      "Newton G. Buchanan, died Jan. 15, 1939 (age 77-7-27), son of Rev. J. W. Buchanan who preached in this U. P. Church for 9 years
      "Mary Elizabeth Varley Buchanan, died Jan. 8, 1932 (age 71-8-20), died in New Lenox, the daughter of Eli Varley, Sr. (lot 53)
      "J. William Croushorn, 1975-1956, son-in-law of Newton Buchanan, husband of Alice Buchanan
      "Alice M. Buchanan Croushorn, wife of William, born Jan. 19, 1888 in Nebraska, died Oct. 16, 1965, (age 77), daughter of Newton & Mary Buchanan"
