    • The 1940 census shows "Katherine" Iliinsky, 3, living with her parents, Peter N Iliinsky, 41, Flora C, 37, and brother "Nicholai P," 1. Also living in the family home was her uncle Nicolai, 45. Her father was employed as a sign painter in the "advertising" industry. [He specialized in gold-leaf applications.] 1940 U.S. Census, Sylvan, Multnomah Cnty, OR; ED 26-45, sheet 7B (T627, Roll 3377, stamped p. 502B).
    • Kathi Iliinsky Snouffer graduated from Lincoln High School, Portland, OR in 1954, and then attended Portland State Univ., Portland, OR. She worked for many years in the insurance business, and in exporting-importing. Later in her career she specialized in fund-raising and special events for non-profit organizations, and has volunteered her special events skills for many charitable organizations.

      She was director of special events for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, community services coordinator for The Christie School, worked for the Tualatin Valley Mental Health Center, was Director of Development for The Fruit & Flower Child Care Center, and, lastly, was the Special Events Director for Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College.

      She donated time and skills to the Portland Rose Festival Association's Golden Rose Ski Classic for many years, created a number of special events for the Committee to Elect Mayor Bud Clark, and raised funds for the Friends of Timberline and the United States Ski Ass'n. She served as a board member and trustee for the Pacific Northwest Ski Ass'n of the U.S. Ski Ass'n, was a member of the Skyiente ski club and a founder of the PacRat ski racing league. At one time she also taught sign language to chimpanzees at the Portland Zoo. She is or has been a member of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Willamette Valley Development Officers, NW, the Oregon Volunteer Administrators Ass'n, the City Club of Portland, the Portland Art Museum and the High Desert Museum. She has served on the board of directors of the Multnomah Arts Center, and has worked as a volunteer for the Oregon Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery. She also has served as a member and officer of the Portland Opera Guild.
