    • (Research):
There is a "William Adkins," age 44, who stated he was born 29 Jun 1874 when he completed his WW I draft registration card (dated 5 Sep 1918). He was a self-employed farmer living in Cressmont, Clay Cnty, WV. He listed "Cora B. Adkins" [probably his wife rather than his sister] as his nearest living relative; according to the card, she also lived in Cressmont, WV. William did not sign his draft card; rather, he made "his mark" on it.

The 1920 census lists a William Adkins, 47, born in WV, living in Henry, Clay Cnty, WV with his wife Cora, and 4 young children, plus an older daughter and her son.
