Allnutt, 39, born in Maryland, a farmer, living with his wife Catharine, 33, born in Washington, D.C., and 4 children: Richard J., 9, born in VA; William D, 7, born in MD; Roberta, 5; born in MD; and James, 2, born in MD. 1850 U.S. Census, Buckeystown Dist, Frederick Cnty, MD (M432, Roll 293, stamped p. 220).

      The 1860 census shows his father "Wm Alnut," 50, living with his second wife "Helen," 27, and three of their children as well as children from his father's first marriage: "Wm," 17; James, 12; Robert, 8; and Mary 8.
